In this course, you will be introduced to our much-loved garden birds. The course will arm beginners with an introductory overview of all bird biology and ecology. It will also look at specific species found in gardens within the UK, how to identify them and their song.
This course is comprised of 4 topics, which will be completed 1 topic per week over a 4 week period.
This course is aimed at adults and covers the following topics and objectives from the Eco-Skills Birds Learning Framework:
- Birds01 Bird Biology
- Bird02 Bird Ecology
- Bird03 Identifying UK Garden Birds
- Bird04 Types of Bird Song
For each topic, there will be a number of resources and activities for you to work through in your own time, as well as an end of topic quiz. Each topic will end with a 45-minute live session delivered over Zoom with the course tutor, which will consist of discussions and exercises that reflect on the learning of the previous week.
In this course, you will be introduced to the basic biology of amphibians and reptiles. The course will arm beginners with an introduction to Amphibian and Reptile taxonomy, anatomy, and their main ID features. It will also allow you to identify the key differences between them and some of their conversation issues.
All course content has been created and accredited by our partner organisation, ARC. This course is comprised of 2 topics, which will be completed 1 topic per week over a 2 week period.
